Founded by Paige Haefke, Simple Stitches is built on a deep passion for sewing and craftsmanship. Paige discovered her love for all things sewing while volunteering at Starlight Theatre in Rockford, IL. She went on to earn a Fashion Design degree from Harper College and refine her skills under two Master Tailors. Along the way, her talent has earned her multiple awards for custom work. She believes in helping people feel and look their best and assist with budget concerns when she can.

Community

Simple Stitches believes in supporting Rockford and surrounding communities. When our community succeeds, we succeed. We at Simple Stitches participate in discounting alteration needs for local schools and non profit organizations as well as providing students with access to the sewn goods industries, such as manufacturing and design, which gives them a real life look into what job opportunities are available.

To give back to the community, we sponsor a coat drive every year in the month of October. We collect old and/or damaged coats which we donate to causes in need. Any old coats you don’t want? Bring them in! Childrens’ coats that no longer fit? Bring them in! Damaged coat you don’t believe is worth fixing? Bring it in!

For every coat donated, we will be presenting a special discount card for our services.

Paige– Simple Stitches was founded by Paige Haefke. Paige grew up in the agricultural community in Boone County, living in Poplar Grove, Illinois through most of her early life.. Paige found her love for EVERYTHING sewing after she began volunteering at Starlight Theatre of Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. Paige would then go on to work under two Master Tailors and receive a degree in Fashion Design. Her love for all things sewing did not stop there. She went on to become a certified sewing machine mechanic. Her love for sewing is never ending. She often refers to herself as a “sewing nerd” because there is always something new in the field to learn.

Paige loves to interact with customers and has an infectious enthusiasm that will be sure to bring a smile to your face! She looks forward to any new challenges you can bring her!

Eric– Paige’s husband and Head of Business Operations. Eric grew up in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and moved out to Capron, Illinois around the age of 10. He met Paige in high school and they have been inseparable ever since. Eric became involved with Simple Stitches around 2019, helping Paige grow the business to what exists today. His background is in business management and technology development. He is responsible for many of the process flows and daily operation, customer service, and organizing Simple Stitches’s involvement in the Rockford community, such as events and fundraisers. He is our main business contact for any business-to-business services and general information. You may see him in the shop from time to time helping Paige.
